The Cities Project
encourages the NPR audience to engage with the cities they live in and imagine the cities of the future.

Returning in September 2015, The Cities Project will be a six-part series featured on Morning Edition and All Things Considered. The next installment of the series, How We Get Around, will explore issues of mobility.

Nothing is more integral to the life of a city than the mobility of its people. Areas of town that are tough to reach by transit are less economically developed and people who live there may have trouble getting to jobs. We explore: How big data is helping leaders make more equitable decisions about transit. How cities are using new technologies for more resilient transportation that can withstand storms. Also: alternative forms of transit hailed as the transportation of the future.
